Issue: Proper Hostname/SNI is required for HTTP Requests to be Proxied in rPOP Setup

Description

  • Proper Hostname/SNI is required in HTTP Requests for rPOP Setup

Environment

  • Silverline WAF
  • Proxy/Proxies
    • rPOP

Cause

  • The client does not send HTTP Host header (port 80) or the SNI extension (port 443)
  • FQDN not configured (exist) in the proxy configuration

Resolution

  • Ensure proper FQDN hostname(s) are configured in the proxy configuration
    • FQDN.png
  • The FQDN name MUST match exactly for an HTTP request to be successful. Otherwise, the request will fail
    • Wildcarding is not supported
