Answer

An AS-SET is a name given to a collection of Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs).

  • It is a Routing Policy Specification Language (RPSL) attribute that starts with as- i.e AS-DEFENSE.
  • Managed by a maintainer for example MAINT-AS55002. 
  • Added as a member to originating Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) as-set.
  • Maintained in an Internet Routing Registry (IRR) of record or at one of five Regional Internet Registries (RIR) which assigned/allocated your IPv4/6 address space.
