Answer

Route objects are a Routing Policy Specification Language (RPSL) class attribute that starts with 'route(6):'. 

  • Route(6) objects are advertised by autonomous system originations (Origin AS).
  • Route(6) object are defined CIDR notation
  • Route(6) objects can be grouped together
  • Route(6) objects created also governed by specific registered maintainers in a registry. i.e MAINT-AS55002.
  • Route(6) objects are typically advertised to many up/downstream Internet Service Providers (multi-homed by than one AS).
