Q&A: What's the maximum number of HTTP parameters allowed in a WAF Policy?

Question

  • What's the maximum number of HTTP parameters allowed in a WAF policy?

Environment

  • Silverline WAF
  • Proxy/Proxies
  • WAF Policy/Policies
  • BIG-IP

Answer

  • Silverline has a default of 500 maximum allowed HTTP parameters.
    • If a request contains more than 500+ parameters, then the WAF policy will raise a violation (alert/block).
    • However, should you need to allow more than 500 parameters, we can increase the limit on the WAF policy up to 5000.
